• Eurowings customer app enables uploading of relevant certificates for travel via "myHealth Docs"

  • Passengers save time and reduce physical contacts

  • Can be used as of now on all Eurowings flights from Spain to Germany, expansion to other flight connections planned

  • Eurowings takes on pioneering role in flexible and safe travel

Available now for all Eurowings flights from Spain to Germany: Eurowings enables its passengers to upload all documents required for entry – such as a negative Corona test, vaccination status or online registration for the country of arrival - independently via the Eurowings customer app, thus saving time.

Use of the "myHealth Docs" solution via the customer app

Using the health data solution "myHealth Docs," which the airline already integrated into its customer app in April this year, Eurowings customers can now quickly and easily upload all relevant documents with just a few clicks and retrieve their boarding pass online after a successful upload. Additional checks of the required documents at check-in are no longer necessary. This saves passengers time and helps to further reduce physical contacts as part of the Lufthansa Group's leading hygiene concept.

Previously, passengers could use "myHealth Docs" to check whether they had all the documents they needed for entry, based on a detailed questionnaire. What is new now: after completing the questionnaire to record all certificates are available, passengers can upload the required documents or store them as a photo.

Successfully tested with over 1.500 passengers

The new upload function of the digital solution "myHealth Docs" has already been successfully tested by many passengers on Eurowings flights from Spain to Germany. In a further step, the airline plans to extend the new service to other flight connections shortly, thus providing its passengers with a safe and comfortable travel experience. The expanded functionality represents another milestone in the digitization of certificates within the travel chain and makes a decisive contribution to a relaxed and safe travel experience in times of pandemic.

Eurowings hygiene concept

An obligation to wear a protective medical mask continues to apply on Lufthansa Group flights to and from Germany. Passengers are required to wear either a surgical mask or an FFP2 mask or mask with the KN95/N95 standard during boarding, the flight and when leaving the aircraft. An exemption from the obligation to wear a mouth-nose mask during the flight is only possible for medical reasons if the medical certificate is issued on a form provided by Lufthansa Group and a negative Covid19 test is available which is not older than 48 hours at the scheduled start of the journey.

In principle, infection on board is very unlikely. All Lufthansa Group aircraft are equipped with the highest quality air filters, which ensure air quality similar to that in an operating room. In addition, the air circulates vertically – instead of being dispersed throughout the cabin – and is completely exchanged every two to three minutes. In addition, all Eurowings customers benefit from automatically included Corona travel protection when they choose travel insurance of their choice with the airline.
