Rush of applicants at the airline Eurowings: more than 6,000 applications have already been received in recent weeks for the positions advertised at the new base in Prague. The first selection interviews for the vacant cockpit and cabin positions have already begun. The Lufthansa subsidiary, which specializes in low-cost European direct flights, had launched an application process for crews at its tenth base at the end of July to fill around 100 cockpit and cabin positions locally.
Robert Jahn, Managing Director of Eurowings Europe, said, "We are thrilled by this response and the strong interest that our offer has met within the Czech Republic. I am very pleased that we can offer a 'local touch' at the base in Prague and strengthen our teams by hiring local colleagues."
Eurowings is expanding its offering in Central Europe with the opening of a new base in the Czech capital Prague. From October 31, 2021, Eurowings will initially take off with two Airbus A320 aircraft, with a third aircraft to follow in summer 2022. The flights will be operated by Eurowings Europe, the pan-European flight operation of Eurowings.
When flight operations start in Prague, crews from Eurowings Europe in Vienna will initially be deployed from October. In the medium term, however, flights will be operated entirely by locally based Prague crews. Crew members already flying for Eurowings Europe have preferential transfer rights in accordance with internal company regulations.
