COLOGNE/BONN, VIENNA – More sunshine destinations for Austria. Eurowings continues to expand the offering from its base in Vienna. A new connection to Agadir in the south of Morocco will be added to the portfolio in winter. The quality low-cost carrier will open the route on 4 November 2017; it will be operated on Saturdays with an Airbus A319. Eurowings will depart from Vienna at 12:40 midday for a 4 1/2 hour flight.

The airline offers a dense route network out of Austria’s capital with a combination of popular holiday destinations and attractive major cities for business, weekend and event trips. In addition to Vienna, Eurowings also has its own base in Salzburg and has now been particularly influential and successful in Austria for over a year. Previously, the airline flew to its neighbouring country exclusively from existing locations in Germany. The expansion, initially into Austria and, just a few weeks ago, also with its own hub on Mallorca, mark the beginning of an expansion throughout Europe planned by the Lufthansa subsidiary.

Starting from now on, the new flights to Agadir can be booked on the Internet at www.eurowings.com or via the Eurowings app. The airline also offers attractive package holidays with Eurowings on its website, which can be booked at budget prices through the Eurowings Holidays tour operator.

Agadir is situated directly on the Atlantic coast in the south of Morocco. Behind the city rise the towering Atlas Mountain ranges from where visitors can slip straight into the Sahara. In 1960 Agadir was almost completely destroyed by an earthquake with only the old hilltop fortress of the kasbah above the city surviving the impact. As a result, Agadir was rebuilt on modern lines an now has good infrastructure, roads laid out in a chequerboard pattern and a state-of-the-art port.
