COLOGNE/BONN – Eurowings is continuing its expansion of the winter flight schedule 17/18 and will now offer the Cologne-Rijeka connection in winter too. The airline has added the route from Cologne/Bonn to the flight schedule on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays as of November and will fly to Croatia with an Airbus A319.
The new flights can already be booked on the Internet at www.eurowings.com or via the Eurowings app. It’s also possible to book attractively-priced package holidays to Croatia with Eurowings Holidays.
Eurowings now offers Rijeka all year round. In the current summer flight schedule, flights leave Cologne for the Croatian seaport twice a week, increasing to three times a week during the summer holidays.
Dubrovnik, Osijek, Pula, Split, Zadar and Zagreb are other Croatian destinations offered by the airline this summer.
The current Eurowings flight schedule features almost 100 flights a week (one-way) to Croatia.
Rijeka is certainly worth a visit. This important port is located on Kvarner Bay. Thanks to its ideal geographical situation, it has developed into one of the region’s largest seaports.
Those wishing to explore the city on foot will discover magnificent façades in the historic centre, a large number of galleries and museums and plenty of cafés inviting them to linger for a while. No sightseeing tour would be complete without a visit to the city tower, a landmark of the port. It is one of the few buildings that survived the major earthquake of 1750 without sustaining serious damage.
The Korzo pedestrian zone offers a wealth of shopping arcades and restaurants offering delicious local dishes.
And let’s not forget a visit to the beach while in Rijeka. The beaches are located on the eastern and western sides of the city; two of them, Kostanj und Ploče, have actually been awarded the Blue Flag for exceptional cleanliness.
