COLOGNE/BONN – Autumn break starts with a high volume of passengers in North Rhine-Westphalia: in the two-week autumn break, around 282,000 passengers from NRW will take off on holiday with Eurowings.

Eurowings is looking forward to welcoming around 282,000 passengers on board during the holiday period, flying from Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Paderborn, Dortmund and Münster/Osnabrück airport. Some 157,000 passengers will start their holidays from Düsseldorf alone. Around 114,000 passengers will take off on their autumn break with Eurowings from Cologne/Bonn airport. Palma and Barcelona are particularly popular holiday destinations. Greece is also one of the top holiday countries this autumn. Travellers are attracted both to the Greek islands and also to cities on the continent. Berlin is the most popular German destination for those from North Rhine-Westphalia.

In the coming two weeks, Düsseldorf airport is expecting a total of 1.3 million passengers. Cologne/Bonn airport is also anticipating a high volume of passengers during the holidays with 800,000 passengers in total. The anticipated passenger numbers mean intense activity at Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn airports. To start the holidays without stress, Eurowings recommends that its passengers give themselves ample time at the airport and use the straightforward, time-saving web and mobile check-in before leaving home. New at Düsseldorf is the option of checking in luggage free of charge between 18:00 and 21:00 on the evening before flying.

In addition to a large number of short- and medium-haul destinations, Eurowings is currently strengthening the long-haul network from Düsseldorf. The airline is planning up to 140 long-haul departures per month to attractive long-haul destinations in America and the Caribbean. This makes Düsseldorf not only the largest Eurowings location but also the low-cost airline’s largest long-haul base.

At present, passengers can travel with Eurowings from Düsseldorf to New York, Fort Myers, Miami, Cancun and Punta Cana. In addition to its flights to JFK, from 1 December 2018 the airline will also fly to New York’s Newark airport (EWR) six times a week. Las Vegas will be added for the first time from 3 July 2019.

Flights to all destinations in the Eurowings route network can be booked at or via the Eurowings app.
