COLOGNE/BONN – Snack innovations take flight with Eurowings. Together with its cooperation partners Retail inMotion and NX-FOOD, the innovation hub of METRO AG, the airline is paving the way for original, creative food start-ups on board its short and long-haul routes. As a result, four carefully selected start-ups will be given the opportunity to sell their new products to customers under market conditions during a three-month test phase and to trial them with real passengers on Eurowings flights. If successful, the products will then be positioned in the food trade.
“As an innovative airline, we and our partners, Retail inMotion and NX-FOOD, have selected the most exciting products for our passengers to enjoy on board from now until February,” says Katrin Rieger, Vice President Customer Experience & Product at Eurowings. “I’m sure our passengers will really love the current selection, from healthy popcorn and crunchy dried fruit paper to nut snacks.”

Every quarter, Eurowings and its cooperation partners, Retail inMotion and NX-Food, select the most innovative and new-to-market products from the food industry. They analyse the marketability of the companies and start-ups based on sales figures and customer feedback and put together a final selection.
Eurowings passengers can look forward to the following products until February:
- Wildcorn: This unique popcorn is made from prime ingredients, just bursting with flavour.
- Bitebox: The nutritious snack made from nuts and dried fruits scores highly as a healthy pick-me-up above the clouds.
- Berwork: Awesome, super tasty, 100% airworthy. Berwork sausage snacks contain very little fat and no additives – the perfect in-flight snack to boost your energy and fill you up.
- Dörrwerk: Fruit paper has never tasted so good! Refuelling with vitamins becomes a gourmet experience with this crunchy and original take on fruit.
