Based on ratings and feedback from millions of users worldwide, the travel search engine Skyscanner has now awarded the Traveller Trust Awards for the first time. The awards are given to airlines and online travel agencies with which customers were most satisfied between July 2017 and August 2018. Aspects such as customer service, booking process, website usability, price transparency and clarity about any additional offers were evaluated. And in the lead: Eurowings.
The award goes to providers who offer customers exemplary functions for travel planning and flight booking and who are perceived as fair and trustworthy. Passengers today want more than just price transparency; their choice is increasingly determined by the quality of the booking and the service after the online booking. The travel experience begins long before the customer gets on the plane. The experience they gain during the booking process is the cornerstone for the entire journey.
The award can hardly have a higher value: "Not a jury, but the customers have decided – for us. The feedback shows us that we are on the right track with our range of products and services," says CCO Oliver Wagner. In a year in which European air traffic was characterised by numerous delays and flight cancellations, and travellers were expected to do a lot, they appreciate the Eurowings booking services. And travellers can look forward to it. "With Eurowings Digital GmbH – our new unit dedicated exclusively to the further development of our digital expertise – we are working on supporting our guests with even better services and features in the future," says Wagner. Customer feedback is a valuable source in this respect.
In addition to Eurowings, Lufthansa and Condor also received awards. This means that three award winners from Germany have made it into the top ten. A total of seven airlines and three online travel agencies were honoured.
