For this new cabin concept, Eurowings has opted for the ‘Comoda’ model from the Italian manufacturer Geven. Guests benefit from increased recline, a wider seat, more legroom, an adjustable leg rest and USB charging ports. On board: Guests can look forward to catering, a welcome drink, a refresh towel and nuts on all routes. On the medium-haul route to Dubai, this is complemented by a pillow and blanket, a high-quality amenity kit and in-flight dining served on genuine porcelain.

“Comfort and relaxation in the air should never be taken for granted – and we’re making them the new standard for business travelers and leisure guests. With the Premium BIZ Seat, we’re among the first airlines in the world to introduce a genuinely comfortable seating experience on short-haul continental flights, including longer medium-haul routes. It’s designed for all guests who want to make flying more comfortable and relaxed. While other airlines are adding more and more seats to their aircraft, we’re giving our guests more of what makes flying easier: Space, privacy and an experience that feels genuinely special. That’s our response as Europe’s leading Value Airline,” says Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings.

Positive feedback: passengers pave the way for fleet-wide roll-out

The decision to extend the new seating standard across the entire Airbus A320neo fleet is based directly on the wishes and feedback of Eurowings guests. Following a successful market trial – which began in November 2025 on the Berlin-Dubai route – the verdict from travellers was clear: The significant increase in personal space and the personalised service concept on board were rated extremely positively. As a result, the Eurowings management team decided to extend the comfort offensive across the entire A320neo fleet for the 2026/27 winter schedule.

Named “Europe’s Best Low-Cost Airline” by Skytrax, Eurowings is making a deliberate investment in quality, comfort and the well-being of its guests. Seat installation is scheduled for November 2026, ensuring the first aircraft with the new premium cabin standard take to the skies from 1 December.

Premium BIZ Seat now available to book

The Premium BIZ Seat is now available via the Eurowings website, the app and all standard booking channels. Depending on the route, the Premium BIZ Seat can be booked as an add-on or is already included in the BIZclass fare. Flights to Dubai start from €289.99; the Premium BIZ Seat can be added from €300. Flights to London are available from €119.99; the seat upgrade is available from an additional €60. On flights to Mallorca and Málaga, the Premium BIZ Seat is already included in the BIZclass fare from €199.99.

Product & Services

Despite weather-related disruptions to flight operations at the start of the year and strikes by the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) trade union, Eurowings operated 75,000 flights with a regularity rate of nearly 99 per cent. Eurowings was forced to make significant last-minute adjustments to its schedule due to the conflicts in the Middle East. In total, more than ten million passengers chose Germany’s largest holiday airline in the first six months of 2026.

This strong operational performance once again resulted in positive feedback from passengers: customer satisfaction, measured using the Net Promoter Score (NPS), stood at 47 – a figure recognised as high within the industry. The fact that, according to surveys, more than 71 per cent of passengers would choose to fly with Eurowings again confirms the strong support customers have for the Lufthansa Group’s value airline. The average flight load factor rose to 85.3 per cent.

Particularly in the second quarter of 2026, Eurowings recorded a noticeable upturn in demand – especially on routes to the western Mediterranean. Traditional holiday destinations, led by Mallorca, benefited significantly from the shift in booking behaviour resulting from the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. In addition, Eurowings expanded its presence at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in 2026 and is now connecting the German capital with around 50 destinations for the first time in its summer schedule. The current focus of this expansion is on direct connections to European capitals such as London, Lisbon and Sarajevo, as well as Rome (from November).

All in all, the Lufthansa Group’s point-to-point business segment – comprising Eurowings and its stake in SunExpress – posted a loss of 252 million euros in the first half of 2026 (adjusted EBIT). Especially higher fuel costs resulting from the conflict in the Middle East as well as increased taxes and charges in Germany as an aviation hub are having a negative impact here. Holiday airlines generate a large proportion of their earnings between June and October – the period that includes the peak travel season for holidaymakers.

Strategy

From exciting facts for young aviation enthusiasts to a fluffy travel companion – when flying with the value airline, the holiday experience begins not just after landing, but whilst still in the air.

New on board as of now is an exclusive “WAS IST WAS” booklet on the topic of flying, developed by Eurowings in collaboration with publisher Tessloff. The popular children's series explains the world of aviation in an entertaining way and shares fascinating facts about flying. A colouring and activity book from Eurowings and Europa-Park, complete with a matching pencil set, provides even more variety during the flight. Furthermore, a plush plane in the look of cooperation partner Salzburger Land adds a new travel companion to the range of treats for younger guests – and serves as a reminder of the family holiday even after landing. These extras for children will be handed out by the cabin crew whilst stocks last.

In addition to the new offers for children, Eurowings is introducing a family discount on in-flight services during the summer holidays. From August until the end of October, families will receive a ten per cent discount on food, drinks and other items in the WINGS Bistro & Shop. The discount applies to orders of 20 euros or more and will be issued by the cabin crew during the flight.

On top of the new in-flight extras, the value airline supports families already during their travel planning. When booking directly via a free myEurowings account, guests receive a 20 per cent discount on the ticket price for children aged between two and eleven. In addition, Germany’s largest holiday airline carries two items of travel equipment per child – such as strollers, buggies or foldable children's wagons – free of charge. Eurowings has reported a significant rise in bookings since the DFB’s defeat by Paraguay – both for flights and for holiday packages from its tour operator Eurowings Holidays. Just in time for the start of the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s most populous federal state, the desire to travel is growing noticeably.

On the first weekend of the holidays, Eurowings will transport around 270,000 passengers to their summer holidays. This increase in bookings confirms a trend that Eurowings Holidays has also been observing since mid-May: package holiday bookings with the last-minute specialist are currently around 70 per cent higher than last year. Many customers are booking at shorter notice than in previous years: most Eurowings Holidays trips in May and June were booked less than 42 days before departure. Mallorca and holiday destinations in Greece are currently in particularly high demand, with bookings for the peak season having more than doubled at times.

Start the holidays well prepared

To ensure the holiday gets off as relaxed as possible, Eurowings recommends being well prepared. A particularly handy feature is that online check-in and check-in via the app are available already 72 hours before departure. This means that boarding passes are secured early on, leaving more time on the day of travel to make the way through the airport. It’s also worth taking a look at the latest baggage rules and airport services. Depending on the airport, passengers can use digital self-service options such as baggage machines or check-in the evening before. Passengers can find all information about check-in, baggage, airport services and travel preparation at eurowings.com.

Behind the Scenes

Following cover stories in leading fashion magazines, she is now set to feature on a truly exceptional cover: that of her own employer. Eurowings is thus celebrating the GNTM winner as a cover star in true fashion-world style – and with exactly the kind of attention reserved for exceptional personalities.

“In the fashion industry, a cover symbolises recognition, visibility, and exceptional achievement. Dedicating the latest issue of WINGS to Aurélie is our most sincere way of saying: We are proud of you,” says Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings. “What we are most delighted by is that, despite everything – the hustle and bustle, the glamour, the public eye – she will remain one of us. That says it all.” The summer issue of WINGS reaches around five million passengers on Eurowings flights across Europe during the peak travel season, making it one of the highest-reach magazines in the German-speaking world.

Typically, the front cover of WINGS is reserved for exceptional nature photographs. The idea to make an exception to this design rule came immediately after Aurélie’s victory in the Hollywood final. Instead of a congratulatory card, Eurowings opted for something more lasting: the cover of WINGS magazine. “To us, Aurélie isn't just some celebrity passing through,” says Kownatzki. “She is a very versatile, talented colleague, a popular crew member, and a friendly face of the Eurowings family. But her cover story is more than that: she represents the more than 5,500 Eurowings employees who shape the company. Aurélie’s story shows the diverse talents, passions, and life paths that lie behind the people on board and on the ground.”

The summer issue of WINGS will be available on all Eurowings flights from the start of July.

Behind the Scenes

The series of events took place from 22 to 25 June in Cologne, Essen, Hamburg and Potsdam. A total of around 200 travel agencies participated.

As well as providing an insight into the range of holidays on offer from Eurowings Holidays, representatives from Turismo de Tenerife and eleven hotel partners presented the wide variety of holiday and leisure options available on the Canary Island. The focus is particularly on active holidaymakers with an interest in sport, outdoor activities and culinary experiences.

The close cooperation between the two partners is also reflected in a joint sales promotion: for bookings made between 29 June and 12 July 2026, customers will receive a 60 per cent discount on the additional charge for cycling, sports and golf luggage for trips to Tenerife. Instead of the standard 50 euros per leg, this means that transporting such luggage costs just 20 euros per leg, or 40 euros for a return flight. The offer is valid for flights until 27 March 2027, subject to availability.

The roadshow also highlights the potential of joint marketing initiatives between destinations and Eurowings Holidays. “The partnership with Turismo de Tenerife is a prime example of how we can work together to develop offers targeted at specific audiences,” says Jan Osmers, who is responsible for partnerships at Eurowings Holidays. “The combination of a tour operator’s product, flight offers and suitable additional services creates new opportunities for reaching shared target groups.”

Partner and Cooperations

Berlin and Hamburg will both gain direct flights to Jerez de la Frontera (XRY), while Cologne/Bonn adds two new connections to Klagenfurt (KLU) and Pristina (PRN). From Stuttgart, Eurowings will newly serve Cairo (CAI) twice weekly, with Hanover following in November as a second German gateway to the Egyptian capital. Hanover also gains Alicante (ALC) as an additional new route this winter. Further details on the winter schedule 2026/27 will be announced by Eurowings in the coming weeks.
________________________________________

Last-minute trend fuels summer season at Eurowings Holidays
Eurowings Holidays has seen bookings climb sharply since mid-May: package holiday bookings are up around 70 per cent year on year, and June revenue across all destinations is growing by more than 80 per cent. A clear shift towards short-notice booking stands out – more than half of all trips in May and June were booked fewer than 42 days before departure, while the share of “super last minute” bookings made within seven days of departure rose from seven per cent in May 2025 to 16 per cent in May 2026. Mallorca and Greece remain the top destinations, with bookings in peak weeks more than doubling. Current offers for Mallorca include one-week four-star packages with breakfast from 599 euros per person for departures until mid-July, as well as a family deal for two adults and one child (four-star, all-inclusive) from 1,899 euros per booking.
________________________________________

Brand identity: Eurowings unveils new corporate design
Eurowings has refreshed its brand identity, translating its positioning as a European value airline more consistently into its visual communication. At the heart of the new look sits the familiar Wings symbol, which will play a much stronger role as a standalone design element – complemented by a bespoke typeface, "Eurowings Type", a streamlined logo and a more dynamic colour concept built around the brand's signature Eurowings Burgundy. The simplified design system is tailored to digital touchpoints such as the website and app and embeds accessible design principles throughout. The roll-out will be phased across all brand touchpoints – from the website and the airport experience right through to the cabin. More details
________________________________________

Newscloud Ticker

With its new look, the airline is translating its strategic positioning as a value airline and its brand essence, ‘More ease for everyone’, even more consistently into its visual communication. The aim is to create greater clarity, recognisability and ease across all communication channels and throughout the entire travel journey.

Design follows strategy

The redesign is rooted in the evolution of Eurowings’ brand positioning: from a classic low cost airline to a European value airline that, alongside attractive fares, now places greater emphasis on comfort, flexibility and a more relaxed travel experience. The new corporate design makes this brand evolution visible across all touchpoints and creates a coherent brand experience – from booking to arrival.

“With the new corporate design, we are making our brand essence ‘More ease for everyone’ visually tangible. At the same time, we are creating a modern and consistent brand presence that sets us apart and further strengthens our recognisability,” says Dirk Otto, Head of Marketing at Eurowings.

The Wings as the heart of the brand

At the centre of the new brand identity is the familiar Wings logo mark. In future, it will play a much stronger role as an emotional design element – for example as a key visual in moving-image formats, campaign visuals and digital interfaces. This sees the Wings evolve from a pure logo component into a defining brand symbol. They stand not only for flying itself, but also for those special moments of travel – anticipation, freedom and ease – creating a consistent visual thread across all channels.

Eurowings will also place greater emphasis on an authentic imagery concept and an adapted photographic style within its brand presence. At the same time, the distinctive Eurowings Burgundy remains a defining element of the new corporate design, providing orientation and strengthening identification both internally and externally. A more playful use of the brand colour through gradients and transparency adds greater dynamism and ease.

More modern, clearer, more digital

The simplified design system reduces complexity, particularly in digital applications such as the website and app, and makes orientation faster and easier – for example through clearer navigation structures and more reduced design elements. Inclusive design has also been consistently integrated, with the aim of making all digital platforms barrier-free and accessible to the widest possible user group.

The design system is complemented by a newly developed typeface: Eurowings Type. It has been designed for the brand’s wide range of applications and ensures optimum legibility and impact wherever it is used. At the same time, it gives the brand a distinctive visual character. The Eurowings logo has also been revised on this basis and will appear in a more reduced and clearer form in future applications.

Roll-out across all brand touchpoints

The new brand identity will be introduced gradually across all touchpoints – from the website and airport environments to on board the aircraft. The comprehensive strategy and design process was supported by Josefine Freund and Simon Jasper Philipp. The design development and execution were carried out by the Eurowings team in collaboration with Oscar Bravo, the digital agency of the Lufthansa Group. Eurowings Type was developed together with type designer Hannes von Döhren.

Behind the Scenes

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Balearic President Marga Prohens and Eurowings CEO Max Kownatzki at the government headquarters in Palma. The goal is to distribute tourism demand more evenly throughout the year and create additional employment opportunities, particularly during the autumn and winter months.

To support this initiative, the airline will expand its presence in Mallorca starting with the 2026/27 winter schedule. For the first time, Eurowings plans to base six aircraft in Palma de Mallorca during a winter season – twice as many as just two years ago. With this growth, Eurowings supports the Balearic Government’s efforts to extend the tourism season and spread economic activity more evenly across the year.

In addition, Eurowings is evaluating the expansion of its technical infrastructure in Palma. In the long term, this could create highly skilled, year-round jobs in aircraft maintenance. For Eurowings, a local maintenance facility would simplify support for its growing fleet. Mallorca, in turn, could benefit from the development of a technology-focused business sector that currently has only a limited presence on the island. President Prohens and CEO Kownatzki also discussed potential cooperation with universities on workforce development and innovation initiatives.

“Eurowings brings not only visitors to the island but also highly qualified jobs,” said Kownatzki. “The goals of the Balearic Government and Eurowings complement one another. Together, we want to create the conditions necessary to establish Mallorca more firmly as a destination for all four seasons.” He added that the island offers a wide range of experiences beyond the classic beach holiday. “Especially outside the peak season, Mallorca attracts athletes, nature enthusiasts, and travelers seeking relaxation thanks to its milder temperatures.”

The expansion plans build on a long-standing partnership. Since opening its Palma base in 2017, Eurowings has continuously expanded its operations and now employs nearly 1,000 people locally. During the summer months, the Lufthansa Group airline connects the island with 26 airports and operates approximately 400 weekly flights, primarily to and from Germany and Austria.

Eurowings’ activities in Mallorca already extend beyond flight operations. Through the establishment of Wings Handling, its ground handling company, the airline has invested in local infrastructure and gained experience in building long-term business operations on the island. This creates shared opportunities for both partners: while the Balearic Government continues to promote Mallorca’s development as an attractive year-round business and tourism destination, Eurowings contributes to this progress through its strong local presence and targeted investments.

Strategy

Fuel supplies for Germany’s largest holiday airline are guaranteed at all European bases. This ensures the conditions for stable flight operations during the busy summer travel months.

“In uncertain times, travelers value reliability more than ever. As part of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings has secured its fuel supply for the summer season. We will maintain stable flight operations, giving our guests the confidence to plan their summer vacations with peace of mind,“ says Eurowings CEO Max Kownatzki.

The fact that uncertainty over oil and kerosene supplies is gradually easing is having a major impact on the current summer season, which had previously been characterised by a reluctance to book. Take Mallorca, for example: following a significant drop in bookings of more than 20 per cent at one point, Eurowings is now seeing a noticeable upturn in demand. Bookings for Mallorca are now nine per cent higher than in the already strong same period last year. The island is clearly seen by many holidaymakers as a reliable retreat, which is further fuelling demand that has been strong for years anyway. Numerous tourists who would otherwise travel to destinations in the Middle East are currently opting for Mallorca instead.

Eurowings operates its most important international hub in Palma de Mallorca, connecting Europe’s most popular sun island with 26 airports and around 400 flights a week. The popular ‘Mallorca Shuttle’ (e.g. up to eleven times a day from Dusseldorf) serves as a reliable barometer within the industry of just how popular the island is, particularly among German holidaymakers.

Classic Mediterranean holiday destinations are more popular than ever

With a route network covering more than 150 destinations in 40 countries, Eurowings will once again be offering a comprehensive range of options for holidaymakers and leisure travellers in summer 2026. New direct connections and additional flights on high-demand routes will bring Europe’s cities and beaches even closer. For the first time, travellers can fly directly from Dusseldorf to the European capitals of Madrid and Tallinn with Europe’s value airline. Lisbon, London and Sarajevo are now accessible from Berlin via the ‘Capital Express’. Furthermore, Germany’s largest holiday airline will be flying more frequently to popular holiday destinations in high demand such as Alicante, Cagliari, Faro, Málaga, Naples, Nice and Olbia in summer 2026. Eurowings has expanded its service to Portugal and now flies to Lisbon, Faro and Porto more than 90 times a week.

Behind the Scenes

The 22-year-old from Pulheim near Cologne wowed both the judges and the audience with her charisma, professionalism and authentic personality – and has thus written a very special success story above the clouds.

“I’m just a normal girl, like any other – and suddenly everyone knows me and wants a photo with me. It’s totally crazy,” says Aurélie. She finds it particularly surreal when passengers recognise her on board. “I don’t know when I’ll get used to it. Winning the title will always be a special moment for me.”

Aurélie, who has Brazilian roots, has been part of the Eurowings crew for several years. Colleagues describe her as warm, open and full of positive energy – qualities that the fashion world has now also discovered in her. Even before her TV career, the Rhinelander was on big stages as a cheerleader, loving sport and interacting with people.

Aurélie regularly finds that everyday life in the cabin and life on the catwalk are surprisingly similar: “Neither is a nine-to-five job. You’re constantly meeting new people, working as a team, and have to demonstrate presence, empathy and professionalism in every situation. That’s exactly what links the job of a flight attendant with that of a model.”

Eurowings CEO Max Kownatzki is also delighted by his colleague’s success: “Aurélie embodies what Eurowings stands for in a special way: she inspires people with her natural, approachable manner and boundless positive energy. In doing so, she also shows how much personality and talent there is in our crews. Naturally, the entire Eurowings family is delighted about this award. We’re proud of you, Aurélie!”

Behind the Scenes

Germany’s leading leisure airline will grow its Berlin base to eleven aircraft and more than 300 crew members in the upcoming winter programme. With two additional aircraft, new routes and increased frequencies, the airline is responding to the latest market developments at BER. Through this latest expansion, the value airline of the Lufthansa Group is also moving closer to becoming the number one carrier in the German capital. Eurowings is already the market leader at Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart airports.

As part of the expansion, Eurowings is adding new destinations from Berlin Brandenburg Airport, including for the first time the Italian university city of Bologna. The new nonstop service to the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region complements the airline’s growing Italy portfolio – including destinations such as Rome, Naples and Olbia – and further strengthens Berlin’s direct connectivity to attractive European cities. In the leisure segment, Eurowings is significantly expanding its BER programme to the Canary Islands, with additional frequencies to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife. The new Bologna route (starting from 49.99 euros in the BASIC fare) as well as the additional Canary Islands flights can be booked from Thursday, 21 May, via eurowings.com. Further new connections and the final winter programme at BER are expected to be decided in July.

With the expansion, the Lufthansa Group is further strengthening its undisputed number one position in the German capital. In addition to Eurowings, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and SunExpress also operate regular flights to and from Berlin. Together, the airline group now accounts for around 30 percent of all flights to and from the capital airport.

Eurowings is responsible for the largest share of this growth: from initially three aircraft stationed at Berlin Brandenburg Airport after the pandemic to eleven in the future, serving almost 50 destinations. Over recent years, the airline – which specializes in affordable nonstop connections – has steadily strengthened its position at BER, including through the introduction of the “Capital Express”, new business and city routes, and numerous leisure-focused nonstop services.

Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings: “We believe in Berlin and, despite all current crises, see strong prospects for the market. Berlin attracts people from all over the world – as a political capital, a cultural powerhouse and a business hub with significant potential. That is why we are investing in a rapidly growing network of direct flight connections that are relevant both for tourism and for the economy.”

At the same time, the industry urgently needs internationally competitive framework conditions to ensure that this network expansion can remain sustainably successful, warns Max Kownatzki: “Taxes and fees, which have more than doubled since 2019, are causing many airlines to increasingly avoid Germany. Combined with the rapid rise in fuel costs, they are acting as a stop sign for investment in Germany. In addition, there is a growing number of EU regulations that place a disproportionate burden on German and European airlines, particularly in the area of climate policy. This makes it all the more important for policymakers to act now and correct the significant competitive disadvantages affecting the domestic aviation industry.”

New Destinations

Previously, this was only possible on Fridays as part of the so-called “Sneaker Flydays”. From now on, Eurowings operates under the motto: “Sneakers any day.”

With this decision, the Lufthansa Group airline is responding directly to its employees’ wish for greater comfort during their day-to-day operations while also giving its cabin crew look a fresh, modern touch. The sneakers not only bring visible “good vibes” on board, they also reflect a contemporary travel experience that fits the airline perfectly – true to the Eurowings brand promise: “More ease for everyone.”

The white sneakers add a fresh touch both on board and on the ground and are seen by employees as especially comfortable and authentic. The positive response goes well beyond the crews themselves: many passengers also regularly comment favourably on the sneakers in customer feedback and on social media – the look proving a hit with both passengers and crews.

“Whether travelling for business or leisure, no other shoe combines professionalism, comfort and ease quite as naturally as the sneaker,” says Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings and himself a passionate sneaker enthusiast. “The modern look also underlines our identity as Europe’s value airline – with a clear ambition to differentiate ourselves from the traditional low-cost competition. That applies not only to the quality of our products and services, but also to the way we present ourselves.”

Behind the Scenes

More than 75 per cent of 27,000 flights operated in the first quarter reached their destination on time. Despite a challenging environment, Eurowings achieved a regularity rate of 98.2 per cent. Weather-related factors caused significant disruptions to flight operations at times – for example, operations at the capital’s BER airport were severely restricted for several days. Furthermore, Eurowings had to adjust its schedule due to the armed conflicts in the Middle East. In total, over 3.6 million passengers chose Germany’s largest leisure airline in the first three months of 2026.

Customer satisfaction, as measured by the Net Promoter Score (NPS), stood at 46 – a figure recognised as high within the industry. The fact that, according to surveys, more than 74 per cent of passengers would choose to fly with Eurowings again confirms the strong customer support for Lufthansa Group’s value airline. The average seat load factor rose to 84.4 per cent.

Eurowings recorded sustained high demand in the first quarter of 2026, particularly for leisure travel, and has expanded its service offering by five per cent despite operational restrictions in the Gulf region. At the same time, the airline has expanded its presence at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (BER) and, for the first time, will connect the German capital with 47 destinations in the summer timetable. In doing so, Eurowings is strengthening connections to European capitals and major cities, and is connecting Berlin non-stop with London, Lisbon and Sarajevo for the first time, as well as with Rome from November. At the same time, the value airline is increasing frequencies on high-demand routes to warm-weather destinations, thereby making its offering even more attractive for holidaymakers and families travelling from BER.

All in all, the Lufthansa Group’s point-to-point business segment – comprising Eurowings and its stake in SunExpress – posted a loss of 215 million euros in the first quarter of 2026 (adjusted EBIT). This reflects not only the traditionally weaker winter business but also the continuing rise in taxes and charges in Germany as an aviation hub. The number of employees rose to 5,500.

Strategy

Together with the renowned Berlin-based chef, Germany’s leading leisure airline is bringing a true cult dish on board – reimagined, crafted to a high standard and made for bold moments of flavour above the clouds.

The Currywurst was specifically developed for the Wings Bistro in close collaboration with Tim Raue. As taste perception changes at cruising altitude, the recipe has been carefully adapted to suit in-flight conditions. A balanced blend of spices, aromatic sauces and clearly defined flavours ensures the dish delivers its full taste experience on board. The sausage itself is sourced from traditional butcher Dönninghaus in Bochum, known for its artisanal quality. This makes the new Currywurst more than just a snack: it represents what Eurowings stands for – uncomplicated enjoyment, close to our guests’ preferences and with a clear focus on quality.

“Our guests are looking for products that feel familiar yet surprising. With the Currywurst by Tim Raue, we’re bringing a German classic on board in a new, elevated quality. It’s a perfect fit for Eurowings: straightforward, popular and full of character,” says Patrick Door, Head of Customer Experience & Product Management.

“Currywurst is a true icon. For Eurowings, it was important to me to create a version that brings together flavour, quality and my signature balance of sweetness, acidity and heat – with a spiced sauce made from Jaipur curry, white onions, chili and a few secrets. That’s what Berlin tastes like above the clouds,” says top chef Tim Raue.

The new Currywurst by Tim Raue will be available from 1 May in the Wings Bistro on all Eurowings flights where the flight time allows the preparation of hot meals. Priced at 8.90 euros, guests will enjoy a grilled pork sausage in natural casing, served with a fruity tomato sauce and a spiced curry-onion sauce. The new product will be available on numerous Eurowings routes within Europe – while stocks last.

Product & Services

Since April 2025, the tour operator has been offering package holidays that combine flights, hotel and transfers in one easy booking. The concept is clearly taking off: more and more customers are opting for simple, all-in-one packages instead of booking each element separately. Growth is particularly strong for package holidays including Eurowings flights, where the share has increased by around 25 per cent compared to last year. The current portfolio covers around 60 countries and approximately 16,000 hotels. Classic sun destinations and European city breaks are especially popular. What’s new: customers booking packages with Eurowings flights can now also collect Miles & More Points as well as Qualifying Points with their holiday. This makes Eurowings Holidays the first tour operator to offer customers the opportunity to build their status with Eurowings flights while earning miles on both the package and the flights. In addition, the age limit for children was raised to 18 at the beginning of April – another step towards making travel even more family-friendly. All in all, Eurowings Holidays is positioning itself as a modern provider for easy, all-in-one travel.
________________________________________

More comfort in summer: Check in your baggage the evening before
Good news for anyone who wants to travel in a relaxed way: Eurowings is once again offering baggage drop-off the evening before at selected airports. This allows travellers to check in their luggage the day before, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and go straight to the gate on the day of departure. At Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Hamburg airports, using the baggage drop machines is free of charge. Alternatively, baggage can be dropped off at the check-in counter for ten euros per person. At Hanover and Stuttgart airports, this service is available at the counter for five euros per person. For BIZclass passengers, HON Circle members (including their companions), and Senators, the late-night baggage drop-off at the counter is free of charge. Further details.
________________________________________

Maximum flexibility for your travel plans: Eurowings Holidays is waiving cancellation fees
More freedom for your travel plans: Eurowings Holidays has waived the previous cancellation fee of 50 euros per person, offering even greater flexibility when booking and planning trips. As the world’s first airline to do so, Eurowings is now offering couples the opportunity to get married on scheduled flights. Against the backdrop of a historic low in marriage rates in Germany – the fewest couples since 1950 have tied the knot in a single year – the country’s largest leisure airline is taking a bold step to celebrate love and help revitalise weddings.

What has long been possible on cruise ships at sea is now taking to the skies: Eurowings allows couples to exchange vows officially above the clouds during a flight. Those wishing to take part in this unique service must register in advance. Marriage applications should be submitted approximately eight weeks before the desired flight date to allow operational planning and crew scheduling.

Ceremonies are available on flights with a minimum duration of 120 minutes. Subject to operational approval, the so-called “Marriage Package” can be added for €199.99. In addition to the official captain-led ceremony, the package includes a piccolo of champagne for the toast as well as a sweet surprise for the newlyweds. Selected Eurowings captains have been specially trained and certified – similar to maritime captains – to conduct weddings on board. The ceremony can take place publicly via the aircraft’s announcement system or in a more private setting in the rear of the cabin.

Honeymoon included with Eurowings Holidays

Complementing the new offering, Eurowings Holidays has expanded its portfolio with a comprehensive all-inclusive wedding package. This combines the in-flight ceremony with a two-week honeymoon stay at selected five-star hotels, for example in Mallorca or Mauritius. Following the ceremony at cruising altitude, newlyweds enjoy their honeymoon in specially appointed wedding suites with all-inclusive catering and optional additional services. The individual arrangement is finalised after booking in close coordination with the Eurowings Holidays service team. At the same time, with the launch of the 2026 summer flight schedule, the number of flights is increasing significantly – starting 1 April, Eurowings will operate around 500 flights daily. Mallorca remains especially popular as a classic holiday destination. In addition, European cities are in high demand for city trips, including London, Barcelona, Lisbon, Rome, and Budapest. Sunny destinations in the Canary Islands such as Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and Las Palmas are also among the top destinations at the start of the holidays.
________________________________________

36,000 additional seats for Mallorca: Eurowings significantly expands its offering
Eurowings is expanding its flight offering to Mallorca at short notice, providing around 36,000 additional seats by the end of May. Approximately 100 extra flights to Palma de Mallorca are planned, along with around 70 additional connections to the Canary Islands (Fuerteventura, Las Palmas, Tenerife), as well as to Faro, Málaga, Naples, and Nice. With this move, the airline is responding to currently changing demand in the tourism sector and is specifically strengthening its offering to destinations in the western Mediterranean region. In addition, Eurowings is increasing the frequency of its existing routes between Berlin and Rovaniemi as well as Kittilä. These routes will now be operated up to twice weekly.
