Last-minute trend fuels summer season at Eurowings Holidays
Eurowings Holidays has seen bookings climb sharply since mid-May: package holiday bookings are up around 70 per cent year on year, and June revenue across all destinations is growing by more than 80 per cent. A clear shift towards short-notice booking stands out – more than half of all trips in May and June were booked fewer than 42 days before departure, while the share of “super last minute” bookings made within seven days of departure rose from seven per cent in May 2025 to 16 per cent in May 2026. Mallorca and Greece remain the top destinations, with bookings in peak weeks more than doubling. Current offers for Mallorca include one-week four-star packages with breakfast from 599 euros per person for departures until mid-July, as well as a family deal for two adults and one child (four-star, all-inclusive) from 1,899 euros per booking.

Five years of Wings Handling: over 60,000 Eurowings flights handled in Mallorca
Wings Handling has now been responsible for ground handling Eurowings flights in Palma de Mallorca for more than five years. Since it began operations on 20 May 2021, the team has handled around 63,000 flights and approximately 9.5 million passengers for the value airline on the popular holiday island alone. Today, Wings Handling employs around 300 staff in Mallorca. Since last winter, Wings Handling has also been operating in Dusseldorf, where it supports the ground handling of Eurowings flights. For young adventurers: children’s wagons can now be carried free of charge
Eurowings is expanding its free transport of children’s travel equipment: from now on, families can also take foldable children’s wagons with them free of charge as checked baggage. The value airline is responding to current travel trends among families and their desire for greater flexibility whilst on the move. Foldable children’s wagons must be checked in at the check-in desk. The free carriage of two items of children’s travel equipment still applies if a child aged 11 or under is included in the booking. Street food in the sky: Eurowings brings back the doner kebab
Since 1 May, Eurowings has returned to serving a doner kebab onboard. The new ‘Flatbread Döner Style’ is filled with chicken kebab meat, coleslaw, cucumber sticks, feta-style cheese, diced tomatoes and garlic-free tzatziki. Passengers of the value airline can order the popular snack for 6.90 euros in the Wings Bistro, provided the flight duration allows for the preparation of hot food. More comfort in summer: Check in your baggage the evening before
Good news for anyone who wants to travel in a relaxed way: Eurowings is once again offering baggage drop-off the evening before at selected airports. This allows travellers to check in their luggage the day before, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and go straight to the gate on the day of departure. At Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Hamburg airports, using the baggage drop machines is free of charge. Alternatively, baggage can be dropped off at the check-in counter for ten euros per person. At Hanover and Stuttgart airports, this service is available at the counter for five euros per person. 36,000 additional seats for Mallorca: Eurowings significantly expands its offering
Eurowings is expanding its flight offering to Mallorca at short notice, providing around 36,000 additional seats by the end of May. Approximately 100 extra flights to Palma de Mallorca are planned, along with around 70 additional connections to the Canary Islands (Fuerteventura, Las Palmas, Tenerife), as well as to Faro, Málaga, Naples, and Nice. With this move, the airline is responding to currently changing demand in the tourism sector and is specifically strengthening its offering to destinations in the western Mediterranean region. New route and additional flights: Eurowings expands its Finland offering from Berlin
Starting 20 December, Eurowings will connect Berlin with the small Finnish town of Kuusamo. During the winter season, the value airline will operate flights from the capital to Kuusamo every Sunday. New connection: Direct flights between Hanover and Glasgow
Eurowings is expanding its route network in summer 2026 with a new direct connection between Hanover and Glasgow. Relocation at Munich Airport: Eurowings moves to Terminal 2
Eurowings will be relocating at Munich Airport on 25 March. Check-in and departure gates will then be located exclusively in Terminal 2. The Eurowings check-in area is in the immediate vicinity of the southern exit E04. In future, travellers will also be able to use all self-service machines for check-in and baggage drop-off in Terminal 2. Another advantage for passengers with connecting flights is that they will no longer need to change terminals, which will shorten travel times and transfer times. At the beginning of April, Eurowings introduced a new boarding concept. Making the invisible visible: Eurowings becomes a member of the Sunflower network
The Sunflower programme was developed a discreet, voluntary way to share that the wearer has a non-visible disability, condition, or neurodivergence and may need extra assistance, understanding, time, or space. It promotes awareness of invisible disabilities and inclusion. A yellow Sunflower on a green background symbolises the need for respect and mindfulness. Often worn as a badge or lanyard, it discreetly signals that the wearer may need additional support or understanding. Eurowings is now also supporting the network as a member. Girls' Day in the cockpit: Eurowings female pilots and technicians present their professions and an Airbus A319 to schoolgirls
On the occasion of today's Girls' Day, 55 schoolgirls from Düsseldorf's Max-Planck-Gymnasium had the opportunity to get to know various career opportunities at Eurowings, Düsseldorf Airport and its partners as well as at the Federal Police. At Eurowings, the girls were able to discover the cockpit and technology of an Airbus A319. In the maintenance hangar, they looked over the shoulders of two female pilots and learned interesting details about everyday working life, education and training in the profession. The girls then learned what is important during the outside check, i.e. the inspection walk around the aircraft. They also gained exciting first-hand insights into training as aircraft mechanics.

Eurowings and share launch campaign for UN World Water Day
To mark this year's UN World Water Day on 22 March 2025, Eurowings has launched a special campaign together with its partner share: For every share drink sold on board, a donation will go towards the construction of water wells for people in Madagascar, Bangladesh and Kenya. This means that each bottle provides one person with drinking water for a day. The aim of the campaign is to sell 220,000 share drinks to give as many people as possible access to clean drinking water.

New share products on board at Eurowings
Eurowings is expanding its partnership with share and adding three more products to the Wings in-flight bistro. These include a lemon-mint flavoured mineral water, a chocolate bar with puffed spelt and a nut mix with dried bananas and salted pretzels. The share principle combines purchasing decisions with a social project: every share snack donates a meal and every drink donates a day's drinking water. To mark World Food Day, Eurowings has extended the principle to its in-flight sandwiches for a month: For every sandwich purchased, a donation was made to help alliance, which uses the money to fund meals for children and young people in various projects around the world. Eurowings and SunExpress to become interline partners
Germany's largest holiday airline Eurowings and SunExpress, recognized by Skytrax as Best Leisure Airline in Europe, are intensifying their cooperation and have agreed an interline agreement for selected routes. Pride season in full swing: Eurowings takes part in CSDs and takes off on pride flight
Under the motto ‘Widen your horizon’, Eurowings is once again setting an example for tolerance and openness this year by taking part in the Christopher Street Days (CSD) in Cologne, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Hamburg. Eurowings takes off with ‘heart aircraft’
A Eurowings Airbus A319 is now flying as an ambassador for the Styria region. A green heart with the inscription “Steiermark” and many small hearts advertise the Austrian holiday region and the business location of Graz. The range of self-service machines for Eurowings passengers at Dusseldorf Airport has been expanded: At so-called self-bag drop machines and baggage tag machines, passengers can now label their baggage themselves and then check it in. Peak figures of 80 per cent for the use of self-bag drop machines at Hamburg Airport last year have shown that the self-service options are becoming increasingly popular with Eurowings customers. Augmented reality in the Eurowings app: check carry-on baggage for correct dimensions
From now on, there is a new augmented reality (AR) feature in the Eurowings app for scanning large items of carry-on baggage. The new function allows customers to scan their hand baggage using their mobile phone camera and check whether it has the permitted dimensions. BER: Eurowings and Lufthansa test lounge shuttle
In order to further improve the travelling experience at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), Eurowings and Lufthansa Group are currently offering their guests a new service: As part of a test run, the ‘Lounge-Mobil’ is in operation at BER and takes travellers from the Lufthansa lounges (Business / Senator) to the gates in departure area A. The shuttle will operate regularly until 21 December 2023 and offers space for several guests. Following the test run, a decision will be made on whether to continue the service, taking customer feedback into account.
