Eurowings is once again a triple winner of the "German Customer Award"

Summary
Best customer satisfaction, best customer service, best value for money: airline takes triple victory in current consumer ranking for the second time in a row

Another triple win for Eurowings: the airline has been named triple winner of the "German Customer Awards 2021/22" – a Germany-wide consumer ranking – by the German Society for Consumer Studies (DtGV) for the second time in a row. The Lufthansa Group's tourism subsidiary took first place among discount airlines in all three categories customer satisfaction, customer service, and value for money. Details of the rankings are published at dtgv.de.

Award reflects customer satisfaction and experience

The central question of the annual "German Customer Award" study looks at which companies have the most satisfied customers ("Customer Satisfaction" category), which companies have the most positive customer experiences ("Customer Service" category) and how suitable the company's performance is assessed in relation to the price charged ("Value for Money" category). The online customer survey included more than 335,000 feedbacks on a total of 2,377 companies from 236 industries.

Eurowings positions itself as a value airline

Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings: "Awards like these show that we have initiated visible changes and are increasingly setting ourselves apart from the ultra-low-cost carrier segment in the evaluation of our services. Eurowings is value for money (with the emphasis on value), but not cheap. The recent triple win is the best motivation for all our teams to put customers at the center of our efforts, especially in difficult times."

The Lufthansa subsidiary enables its passengers to fly inexpensively and flexibly with innovative products and customer-friendly services. These include measures such as the free middle seat starting at ten euros or the possibility of rebooking free of charge up to 40 minutes before departure. There are regular special discount and gift campaigns for families and travelers with children: currently, all families with children up to the age of ten receive a 150-euro children's discount with Eurowings Holidays.

As part of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings is also working to further reduce its carbon footprint. For example, the airline has made the largest sustainability investment in the company's history with the upcoming 2022 integration of the Airbus A320neo in its fleet: around 1.5 billion euros for 13 factory-new A320neo and A321neo, the most modern and efficient medium-haul aircraft in the world. At the beginning of the week, the CO2 compensation options for Eurowings passengers were also significantly improved. For the first time, they can now support German climate projects "on their doorstep" when booking and offset 100 percent of the CO2 emissions of their Eurowings flight with just one click.
