Job application coaching for students

Summary
  • Pupils of the help alliance project received professional help with the application process and for their professional careers

  • Photo shoot for application photos on site

For the second time, Eurowings employees supported students of the help alliance learning support project "Destination Education Opportunities" with job application coaching and a professional photo shoot. The Lufthansa Group aid organization help alliance and Chancenwerk e.V. cooperated on the project to support disadvantaged students on their educational path. The job application training took place on May 23 at the Dieter Forte Comprehensive School in Düsseldorf.

At three stations, the children were able to roll through the topics of résumé and job interview, career choice and cover letter, and photo shoot. Here, Kristina Tophinke from the Eurowings HR department and Gaby Drawe from Corporate Communications supported 24 students with their preparations and questions. The participating school children received professional application photos from Düsseldorf-based photographer Anja Meyer, who provided support at reduced photo shoot costs and was financed with the help of employee donations from the last marketing warehouse sale.

Murat Vural, managing director of Chancenwerk e.V., and the principal were pleased about the exchange between pupils and employees from a large company. "The students in our learning support program usually do not have access to assistance or experience in their private environment for their professional careers and job application processes. This makes the suggestions and tips from experts about what they can and must prepare for all the more valuable," says Murat Vural.
