Eurowings is adding a new touch to the final moments on board: Starting 1 June, passengers on all flights will receive mini HITSCHIES as a new farewell item. The fruity chew candies replace the previously distributed sweets. With flavors like Blue Raspberry and Forest Fruit, Eurowings introduces a fresh accent at exactly the point that often defines the emotional end of a journey. The new farewell gesture underscores the value airline’s ambition not only to shape the journey itself, but also to leave a lasting final impression: small moments of enjoyment that stay with passengers even after they have left the aircraft.

Five years of Wings Handling: over 60,000 Eurowings flights handled in Mallorca
Wings Handling has now been responsible for ground handling Eurowings flights in Palma de Mallorca for more than five years. Since it began operations on 20 May 2021, the team has handled around 63,000 flights and approximately 9.5 million passengers for the value airline on the popular holiday island alone. Today, Wings Handling employs around 300 staff in Mallorca. Since last winter, Wings Handling has also been operating in Dusseldorf, where it supports the ground handling of Eurowings flights. The subsidiary of Germany’s largest holiday airline handles all ramp operations – including the loading and unloading of aircraft, passenger transport, pushbacks and more.

For young adventurers: children’s wagons can now be carried free of charge
Eurowings is expanding its free transport of children’s travel equipment: from now on, families can also take foldable children’s wagons with them free of charge as checked baggage. The value airline is responding to current travel trends among families and their desire for greater flexibility whilst on the move. Foldable children’s wagons must be checked in at the check-in desk. The free carriage of two items of children’s travel equipment still applies if a child aged 11 or under is included in the booking. Previously, the policy covered pushchairs, buggies, child seats, travel cots and baby carriers – now foldable children’s wagons are also being added. Street food in the sky: Eurowings brings back the doner kebab
Since 1 May, Eurowings has returned to serving a doner kebab onboard. The new ‘Flatbread Döner Style’ is filled with chicken kebab meat, coleslaw, cucumber sticks, feta-style cheese, diced tomatoes and garlic-free tzatziki. Passengers of the value airline can order the popular snack for 6.90 euros in the Wings Bistro, provided the flight duration allows for the preparation of hot food. Eurowings first offered a doner kebab on board back in 2020 – after a longer break, it is now making a comeback.
