Eurowings and Smartwings strengthen partnership: Additional flights from the Czech Republic to the Canary Islands 
Eurowings and Smartwings are further expanding their cooperation at Václav Havel Airport in Prague, the largest airport in the Czech Republic. From winter 2025/26, Germany's largest vacation airline Eurowings will be expanding its route network to include direct flights from Prague to the Canary Islands. Travelers will then be able to fly six times a week with Eurowings from Prague to these popular vacation destinations on the Atlantic. The flight schedule includes: Tuesdays to Lanzarote, Wednesdays and Saturdays to Fuerteventura, Thursdays to Gran Canaria and Fridays and Sundays to Tenerife.

In the 2025 summer timetable, Smartwings will offer direct scheduled flights from Prague to four Canary Islands: Tenerife (daily), Gran Canaria (twice weekly), Lanzarote (twice weekly) and Fuerteventura (twice weekly). From the next winter timetable, the existing Smartwings connection between Prague and the Canary Islands will be expanded to include flights operated by Eurowings with a Smartwings codeshare flight number. This expanded partnership will offer passengers even more flight options and ensure greater availability and flexibility when planning their trips.

Making the invisible visible: Eurowings becomes a member of the Sunflower network
The Sunflower programme was developed a discreet, voluntary way to share that the wearer has a non-visible disability, condition, or neurodivergence and may need extra assistance, understanding, time, or space. It promotes awareness of invisible disabilities and inclusion. A yellow Sunflower on a green background symbolises the need for respect and mindfulness. Often worn as a badge or lanyard, it discreetly signals that the wearer may need additional support or understanding. Eurowings is now also supporting the network as a member. With the help of internal training for its employees, Eurowings helps people whose limitations are not obvious to make their stay at the airport more pleasant and travelling easier. “We are delighted to have joined this valuable initiative and to make a difference by providing attentive support along the journey with us,” says Lars Schmidt, responsible for inclusive and accessible travel at Eurowings. 

It is estimated that over one billion people worldwide live with disabilities. Not all of them are visible - for example hearing and visual impairments, chronic pain, dementia or anxiety disorders. Girls' Day in the cockpit: Eurowings female pilots and technicians present their professions and an Airbus A319 to schoolgirls
On the occasion of today's Girls' Day, 55 schoolgirls from Düsseldorf's Max-Planck-Gymnasium had the opportunity to get to know various career opportunities at Eurowings, Düsseldorf Airport and its partners as well as at the Federal Police. At Eurowings, the girls were able to discover the cockpit and technology of an Airbus A319. In the maintenance hangar, they looked over the shoulders of two female pilots and learned interesting details about everyday working life, education and training in the profession. The girls then learned what is important during the outside check, i.e. the inspection walk around the aircraft. They also gained exciting first-hand insights into training as aircraft mechanics.
