New info format: the Newscloud Ticker
Is the classic press release still up to date? This question has been on the minds of media professionals for years. In Germany, the importance of press releases is still considered particularly high: In surveys, most journalists continue to name them as the most desired content by companies and PR professionals. We at Eurowings are also convinced that press releases are still a communication tool with added value for many topics.

However, they are no longer equally suitable across the board for all topics and all media – especially with a view to the world of trade media, online portals and social channels. This is because these media are often interested in a wealth of information and a frequency that we are unable to depict via classic press releases.

To better meet this growing interest, we will henceforth bundle news and interesting facts about Eurowings in a ticker format, beyond the field of press releases. The Eurowings “Newscloud Ticker” will provide you from now on with the most important and relevant information – briefly, concisely and to the point.

If you see a need for adaptation or have any other requests for us in corporate communications, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to your feedback!

Best regards
Your Matthias Eberle

Easter vacation trends
Kick-off for the Easter vacations: Mallorca remains the most popular destination for Eurowings guests in 2023. With Gran Canaria, Málaga and Fuerteventura, Spain is represented four times in the top five beach destinations. Egypt rounds off with Hurghada. In terms of cities, London leads the ranking, followed by Vienna and Barcelona. For those who would like to travel spontaneously, there are still free seats, for example, to Thessaloniki and Cyprus or to Zurich and Milan.

Baggage drop-off the night before possible again
Eurowings offers an additional baggage check-in service the evening before for flights until the end of October: Travellers can drop off their baggage at the check-in counter between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. the day before for a service fee of five euros; the service can be used free of charge at the self-bag drop machines. This offer is valid at Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Cologne, and Stuttgart airports. Further details

Extended self-services in Cologne and Dusseldorf
Just in time for the start of the Easter vacations in North Rhine-Westphalia, Eurowings customers in Cologne and Dusseldorf have access to extended self-service options. In Cologne, there are four additional check-in machines, four new tagging machines and four additional self-bag drop machines. In Dusseldorf, twenty brand-new check-in kiosks have been installed. At these, travellers can also print baggage tags, which speeds up baggage drop-off and reduces waiting times at the check-in. By the end of April, eight new tagging machines will complete the set-up in Dusseldorf.
