For the people who mean the most: Eurowings presents Germany’s highest honour

‘Name a Plane’ competition: exceptional people receive a special tribute on Eurowings aircraft

Summary
  • Nominate someone special between 21 September and 11 October 2026
  • Submit their personal story at eurowings.com/nameaplane
  • Four selected first names will take pride of place on Eurowings aircraft
  • Names to be revealed in December 2026

As Europe’s value airline, Eurowings is built on one clear principle: people come first. With its new ‘Name a Plane’ campaign, the airline is making this promise more visible than ever. The campaign invites people to show their appreciation for someone special by giving them Germany’s highest honour: their first name on a Eurowings aircraft.

Eurowings is looking for people who make a real difference through their kindness, support and appreciation of others – within their family, among friends, in a club or community group, through volunteering or simply in everyday life. Between 21 September and 11 October 2026, participants can nominate someone special and share that person’s story at eurowings.com/nameaplane.

Wanted: people who make life easier for others
This is not about public recognition or grand gestures. What matters is what someone does for others and how their actions make life that little bit easier.

‘Every Eurowings aircraft connects people and brings them closer to those who matter most. With “Name a Plane”, we are celebrating the people who make life easier for others,’ says Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings. ‘Often, it is the small, everyday gestures that make the greatest difference. Putting their name on one of our aircraft is our way of giving that contribution the recognition it deserves.’

Four names ready for take-off
Once the nomination period has closed, Eurowings will review the stories submitted. The focus will be on people whose commitment to others is particularly moving and who authentically embody the idea behind the campaign. A jury will then select four people. In December, Eurowings will introduce the first four winners and share their stories. Their first names will be displayed prominently on Eurowings Airbus A320 aircraft.

A personal thank-you will become a highly visible symbol of appreciation – and a special name will be ready for take-off.
