Record employment: More than 5,000 employees at Eurowings for the first time

Europe's value airline Eurowings continues to grow: the airline now employs over 5,000 people across Europe. Employee no. 5,000 is cabin crew member George Aswad, who successfully completed his training as a flight attendant at the Eurowings base in Prague at the end of April. The airline operates direct flights from the Czech capital to more than 20 destinations throughout Europe.

The Prague base is part of the pan-European growth strategy that Eurowings has been consistently pursuing. In addition to the German home bases, locations in Palma de Mallorca, Salzburg, Prague, Stockholm and Graz have been successively added. In the course of this expansion, the team has also become increasingly international. Currently, employees from over 60 nations work for the airline with the "Euro" in its name. The success story of Eurowings began around 30 years ago: Launched back then with ATR 72 propeller aircraft as a regional "air taxi", the airline now operates a fleet of more than 100 modern Airbus aircraft and flies more than 20 million passengers a year to more than 150 destinations throughout Europe.

In total, 72% of Eurowings employees are "flying" staff: around 48% of the Eurowings workforce is employed in the cabin and around 24% in the cockpit. There are currently vacancies in both cabin and cockpit – employees are currently being recruited for the Eurowings bases in Hamburg, Stuttgart, Salzburg and Prague.  In addition, Eurowings also offers many attractive career fields on the ground, including IT, engineering and law. Apprentices are also currently being recruited in the field of aircraft mechanics for the start of training in August 2024. Modern uniform regulations

Since the beginning of the year, Eurowings has updated its uniform policy for cabin crews to promote diversity, openness and a tolerant working environment. The updated policy allows visible tattoos (with the exception of tattoos on the neck, face and hands) and up to three piercings per ear (none on the face). Unisex rules for hairstyles, make-up and jewellery have also been introduced.
