What do I need to know about hand baggage?

There are basically two types of hand baggage:

• One small item of hand baggage measuring no more than 40 x 30 x 25 cm.
• One large item of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg and a maximum size of 55 x 40 x 23 cm.

The favourable BASIC economy fare includes the flight and a small item of hand baggage (max. 40 x 30 x 25 cm). A large item of hand baggage (up to 8 kg, max. 55 x 40 x 23 cm) including priority boarding can be added to the BASIC fare from 18 euros. The SMART standard fare includes one small and one large item of hand baggage, while the BIZclass premium fare includes one small and two large items of hand baggage. Can passengers check in their baggage the evening before?

Eurowings offers baggage check-in the evening before at seven airports in Germany: In Berlin, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne and Stuttgart, travellers can drop off their baggage at the check-in counter between 6 and 8 p.m. on the evening before their flight for a service fee of five euros; the service is free of charge at the baggage machines. How do check-in and baggage drop-off machines work?

At Berlin Brandenburg, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn, Stuttgart, Stockholm and Vienna airports, passengers can check in and drop off their baggage at check-in machines. In order to be able to drop off baggage independently at these machines, a baggage tag must first be printed out at a check-in machine. Passengers can identify themselves with their booking code, ID card or e-ticket. The machine then prints out the baggage label and boarding pass. Once the label has been attached to the baggage, travellers can scan their boarding pass themselves and place their baggage on the conveyor belt. Accessible travel

Eurowings offers various free services to air travellers with reduced mobility or sensory impairments. These include, for example, assistance with boarding and disembarking, on the apron and the aircraft stairs, as well as assistance to the aircraft seat. The transport of wheelchairs and assistance dogs is also free of charge. Important to know: To ensure ideal assistance, the need must be communicated at least 48 hours before departure.
