Augmented reality in the Eurowings app: check carry-on baggage for correct dimensions
From now on, there is a new augmented reality (AR) feature in the Eurowings app for scanning large items of carry-on baggage. The new function allows customers to scan their hand baggage using their mobile phone camera and check whether it has the permitted dimensions. The service, developed by Eurowings Digital, is available for passengers who have already checked in for a flight within the Eurowings app on mobile phones with an iOS operating system and provides simple and transparent information about the baggage dimensions for hand baggage. Children travelling alone: childcare service available on more routes
Eurowings is expanding its childcare service (UM service) for children aged between five and eleven travelling alone: With immediate effect, the family-friendly airline is offering the service on direct domestic German connections and routes from Germany to Austria or Switzerland as well as on routes from Germany, Austria and Switzerland to Palma de Mallorca and back, thus ensuring that children arrive safely at their destination airport. New service at Dusseldorf Airport: faster at the gate with ‘WINGS express’ 
Together with partners on the ground, Eurowings is ensuring an improved travel experience at Dusseldorf Airport: ‘WINGS express’ allows passengers travelling to Berlin and Hamburg faster access to security checks and shorter distances to the gate. As a result, they are usually at their departure gate within 40 minutes, provided that weather conditions are stable and online check-in is used.

BER: Eurowings and Lufthansa test lounge shuttle
In order to further improve the travelling experience at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), Eurowings and Lufthansa Group are currently offering their guests a new service: As part of a test run, the ‘Lounge-Mobil’ is in operation at BER and takes travellers from the Lufthansa lounges (Business / Senator) to the gates in departure area A. The shuttle will operate regularly until 21 December 2023 and offers space for several guests. Following the test run, a decision will be made on whether to continue the service, taking customer feedback into account.

  • When does it run? Daily between 6 a.m. and 12 noon as well as between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., every 15 minutes
  • Where? Directly in front of the entrance from the gate area to the Lufthansa lounges, in the immediate vicinity of Gate B20
  • For whom? All lounge guests with a Lufthansa Group departure
