Successful inaugural flights from Berlin and Stuttgart to Dubai

Destination Dubai is now part of the growing Eurowings route network

Dubai is now part of the growing Eurowings route network: Flight EW1152 took off for the first time at 7.11 a.m. on 29 October 2023 with a fully-booked Airbus A320neo from Stuttgart bound for Dubai, landing there at 4.12 p.m. local time. The return flight departed for Berlin at 6.36 p.m., where the Airbus A320neo with the registration D-AENE touched down at around 10 p.m. Today, 30 October 2023, the first flight from the German capital was also fully booked: Flight EW1150 left Berlin at 7.22 a.m. and landed in the desert emirate around six hours later. Travellers from Berlin can now fly non-stop to Dubai four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays), while the highly efficient Airbus A320neo takes off from Stuttgart on Thursdays and Sundays. All Eurowings connections to and from Dubai are day flights and, as direct flights to the metropolis on the Arabian Gulf, offer the advantage that there is no need for time-consuming changes and passengers can reach their destination more quickly. The daily flight times on offer also allow passengers to travel with their biorhythms: they can spend the day in Dubai and still be back home in Germany in the evening. The connections to Dubai complement the expanded programme of direct destinations offered by Eurowings from Berlin and Stuttgart in the current winter flight schedule 2023/24.

"We are delighted to enter a new phase with our first routes to the United Arab Emirates (UAE)," said Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof. "With Dubai's unrivalled attractions and offerings and the metropolis' growth as a thriving centre for tourism, leisure and business, coupled with the increasing volume of passengers travelling between Germany and the UAE, we aim to be a key player in the ever-expanding travel landscape connecting Europe with the UAE and the wider Middle East. We are confident that we will establish ourselves and continue to grow in this dynamic region with our attractive and affordable direct services."

The Airbus A320neo used on Eurowings services to Dubai is by far the most efficient and quietest short- and medium-haul jet in the world and the most visible sign yet of a series of more than 50 sustainability initiatives at Eurowings. With leading technology, the aircraft has a significantly improved environmental performance compared to previous generations: With 50 per cent reduced noise emissions, up to 20 per cent less fuel consumption with equally reduced CO2 emissions and a total investment of more than $1.5 billion, the new fleet addition is the most expensive investment project in Eurowings' nearly 30-year corporate history.
